What's happened to the board? All the text is this crappy times new roman and sleepers main thread is now 264 pages insted of 175 or something, the number of posts per page is lower. I'm having this problem too, I thought it was my pc as I'm having major problems with it.??

I had the tool bar with the home, help, search, members, etc icons disappear for a day or two. I had to hover the mouse over the area to get the 'alt-titles' to appear.
I bet those prankster reptillians are to blame ;D or maybe the space ninjas ;D ;D

I reckon Tommy's in on it. It's a conspiracy! A sure sign of the New World Order, stripping our liberties so we can't have say in fonts, it's here, it's happening, it's the beginning of the end... buwahahahaha.

I didn’t do it. I don’t have any special rights. My font has not changed. I use Internet Explorer.
Maybe all those who are seeing changes are using firefox? Or whatever the default MAC browser is?
Here is a test… Go to some other proboard site and see if it looks the same?

I just want to put forward the notion (again ) that at some point the board will need to be split into categories and whether there is any support for the idea. It would also be better for new visitors to find info they want or post new threads. I also think the number of threads and topics would increase.

Keep in mind that sleeper is one guy and when he starts answering questions its probably easier than paging through different threads and topics to find new questions. I am amazed he has been here this long and further amazed at all the questions he answers.

Hi John,
Yes, lou is one guy but he created a message board, which I personally think is pretty cool. He need not be active in all threads and answer any random questions in any random threads. Questions for sleeper/lou should go on the questions for sleeper thread, end of. Should he choose to participate in other subjects, great. He has no issues in saying he's not answering stuff.
It would actually remove a lot of the burden from him. He is taking time off (a lot of it recently, perhaps he caught lazyitis from milton lol), but the board should be able to function, evolve and allow discussions to continue when he wishes to step aside for periods of time. One issue where you have a point is the board getting to any reasonable size from an administrative point of view (not much admin needed tho, but some). The solution to this is to recruit moderators. I put myself forward for that when the board started but I renounce that offer in light of this conversation. I could name half a dozen that I would vote for to such a role.
I may be overstepping the mark in making assumptions about what he intends this board to be or butting my nose in because I can think of reasons why my suggestions may not be necessary, but I speak with good intention and realise that I also speak from a perspective of what "I" want the board to be.
When you say, "I am amazed he has been here this long and further amazed at all the questions he answers." I am curious to ask why?
He created this board and message boards aren't usually short term projects. He authored two threads over 2 or 3 years and hundreds and hundreds of pages on ATS. He has written several books and many screenplays/manuscripts. I am perplexed at your surprise. However, if time is a genuine factor (which it must be), I'm just saying there are solutions available and throwing it out there because I know I'm not alone in wanting this board to hang around awhile.
Cheers Bear

There is not enough work here for mods, but if you send me a more specific idea of what you think I could do that doesn't require a lot of work, I will try and tackle it one of these days. I assumed several things 1) That this board is a long term thing 2) That it would grow 3) That 1 and 2 were intentional. 4) That it wouldn't be solely reliant and demanding on your time. Any input or "work" would only be necessary if all of the above were true. I guess it's a moot point though if you're not struggling on time. Maybe put it down as food for thought for the future and see what happens. There is a core community here that has value and depending on what you want it to be, it has the potential to achieve it. Just thinking aloud really.
