Hello all Read this, it is from a book, one of many by Robin Hobb.
Have the student lie on his back. He should not be on a comfortable bed or on bare surface. Either is a distraction. A blanket folded on the floor suffices. Have the student remove or loosen any clothing that binds. Some students will preform the exercise best if naked and undistracted by clothing touching them. Others will be too distracted by the vulnerability of their nakedness. Let each student decide what is best for him, without comment. Emphasize that the only movement of the body should be steady breathing. The eyes should be closed. Then, without any part of his body, ask the student to be aware of his body,He may need to be guided in this at first. Tell him to seek awareness of his middle toes without touching or moving them. Then have him think of his knees, but not flexing them. Proceed with the skin of his breasts, of his forehead, the backs of his hands, and continue as long as necessary to name the boundaries of his flash, until the student has been invited to truly consider the physical confines of the body he lives within. Thus prepared, ask him then to find the edges of his thoughts. Do they stop at the flash of his brow? Can he feel them encased in his skull or trapped in his chest? All but the dullest students will swiftly realize that the body does not confine thoughts. They extend outside our flesh, even as our vision, hearing, touch, smelling, and even taste are senses that link us to the outside world while remaining functions of the physical body. So our thoughts reach out, unbound by distance or even time. Ask the student, "Cannot you smell the wine that is opened across the room? Hear the shout of sailors at work across the water? Then do not refuse to believe you can hear the thoughts of the man in the field that waft toward you."

But it could get tricky. What if, since each moment is recorded in time, Lou says to watch what you do because it is recorded for all of eternity. Each dang blasted embarassing humiliating stupid ass moment. Sheesh. The good ones too. ;D “moment”. You have already pointed out that time is analog, always moving. So this recoded moment must be a fixed amount of time. For fun lets say a moment equals 60 seconds earth time. Oh wait that will not work because 60 seconds at earth ground level is different than 60 seconds in low earth orbit. (Google it) So not only do we not have an accurate way to measure time…it has different meaning depending on your origin. But anyway let’s assume we find a way around that small detail… When you jump into that recorded moment to re-live it, does it loop from beginning to end or do you just continue on down the time line jumping seamlessly from recorded moment to recorded moment? Is it playback only and not interactive? Is there one huge recoding of everything everywhere for every moment in time? ET must have one hell of a compression algorithm. Because a simple 2d audio and video from a single perspective and limited range can fill up a modern hard drives in a few hours. Where are they storing all of this data? How much of the information soup do you include to make sure you capture all of our awareness in that moment and given origin and perspective? Isn’t awareness infinite? They say that every particle in existence is attracted to each other. (Gravity) So in at least a small way you would not be able to get an accurate recording of me eating my apple without taking into account all of the information that makes up Jupiter and its origin at that moment. Because every hair on my balding head would be tugged on in a slightly different manner by Jupiter depending on how far away from it I am at that moment. If we leave out those small details then the recoding is not accurate. Who is calling the shots on what to record and what to leave out? I don’t buy the idea of multi and or parallel universes. In fact I don’t even like the word “universe” to me the word is just an attempt to cram everything into a box so it can be measured. If you take a snap shot moment (60 seconds earth at ground level) in time of everything that is you now have an infinite number of copies of everything that exists. The snapshot data is now obsolete because you have added to everything that is just by attempting to store a moment of it. Just to be clear I am not taking a firm stand on any position…this is just an exercise in critical thinking. There are no right or wrong answers or positions in this thread.

Walk, just walk. Then ask yourself if it is your brain, nerves and the rest of your body that is walking. I have always liked that part of the movie. What is real? Its all just sparks in the brain. That is what I am talking about. If time is an illusion then so is everything else and we should be able to find a way to use that to our advantage. Not to do “evil” but to have a little fun while we server our time.

“moment”. You have already pointed out that time is analog, always moving. All I personally know about is time in this 3D world. And it does seem to be always ticking away. The people I have personally spoken with and read about who have died and were revived back to life, say that it is like a 3D film. You can stop a film. Freeze a moment. In fact the entire movie is made of many moments frozen in time. Your movie is about what your awareness has recorded and apparently it's recording lots that you are unaware of. That's why people under hypnosis can recall things like licence plates on cars they barely glimpsed at. They go back to what was meticulously recorded by their awareness at that moment. It's not consciously registered. They say that's what it's like. You can move forward or backward in a smooth seemless manner and you can even see what other beings have recorded. Everything that is is in every moment of time is recorded in this manner. Google it. I'm sure the infinite living energy that comprises everything that you speak of and everything that exists can handle the data and more. It is the data. No right or wrong. But what I was suggesting with the awareness exercise and the apple was not a concept, or a clever thought. It is an actual recognition of our condition. It's no big deal though.

Imagine a point moving about in a plane. Then imagine the plane moving through 3D space. The point's motion in 3D space could be described as a continuous curve, sort of a smear of the original point. Now imagine your reality at a given point in time, all points in the universe, with you at its center in particular placement. Now imagine all of those points "moving" through another dimension, time, as if each was smeared in another direction. This complete picture of your entire life, as seen by someone above the dimension of time, may appear as a painting or sculpture of sorts (albeit one done in 4 dimensions, not 2 or 3). All of your life, consciously created, through this illusion of time, by the artist, yourself, but from the observers perspective a static work. In that way, I believe, all is recorded and time does not exist. Perhaps, and this is really difficult to imagine, the creative process acts on all points of time in your life simultaneously, and thus the work of art itself changes as your soul interacts with its environment. And perhaps even that reveals a sort of "higher time," a fifth dimension, beyond which lie others. If that were true, and if we share the creative process, as seems to be the case, for example, when I take a bite out of your apple, then the collective creation of all of us and many others we can not imagine may combine to create the ultimate work of art, All That Is. Could it be that God is not the Creator, but merely the Observer who resides in the highest dimension? They say that every particle in existence is attracted to each other. (Gravity) So in at least a small way you would not be able to get an accurate recording of me eating my apple without taking into account all of the information that makes up Jupiter and its origin at that moment. Because every hair on my balding head would be tugged on in a slightly different manner by Jupiter depending on how far away from it I am at that moment. If you take a snap shot moment (60 seconds earth at ground level) in time of everything that is you now have an infinite number of copies of everything that exists. Hello Tommy,
It's funny that you post this video. I think I was 18 when I first saw it. this video a marker for a huge truing point in my life.
After seeing this video I went to work the next day. I was at that time a pot smoker working in a medical instrument factory down here in Mexico. I had willingly not seen my mother in 11 years or so.
I had just come back from lunch brake and was loosing my self in thought while doing my repetitive work. I started thinking about that same doc you posted. Suddenly I understood something, I can't remember what it was all I remember is feeling that I had a thought that was not permitted. I started to hyperventilate and I felt a presence that filled me with total fear. I remember thinking that "they" were going to kill me because I knew. Suddenly I felt fine and decided that it was time to quite smoking pot.
I lost my self in my work once more and was startled when a supervisor came up to me and said "Are you Izarith?"
I said "yea"
He said "You speak English well right?"
I said "Yea"
He said "Good....We will be moving you to a much better position soon"
I said "Really? Thank you" and went right back to my work.
About five minutes later that same supervisor came to me.
He said "Izarith?"
I said "yes?"
He said "Your mother and brother who say they have not seen you in 11 years are out side and they want to speak with you. Come with me pleas."
My heart sunk as I followed him down the hall to the door that would take me to the front of the factory where my mother was waiting for me........My brother had apparently received a call from a 401k company that I had joined for the hell of it. My brother had talked the woman on the phone into illegally giving him my location due to the circumstances of our separation.
Ever sense that moment I knew that there was an unseen hand moving pieces on the chess board of my life....
Ta!! Izarith.
