A few days ago a was abruptly awaken to a strange redish glow all around me and my bed. Was like if I had one of those neon signs. It lasted about 5 seconds and went away after i closed and reopened my eyes several times. Anyone else ever experience anything like this? Kinda took me by surprise and had a hard time falling back to sleep after that.

I have studied a lot about sleep paralysis and waking dreams. It seems that, in the majority of the cases studied, people tend to see or sense a presence around them and sometimes on top of them. Some see strange lights and others manifest visions of demonic beings. I am under the impression that these things are real, even though they disappear when fully awake and coherent. As I understand it they are disappearing to a different dimension of existence. Others, still, claim that they are merely figments of a dreaming imagination that continues into the lucid awake state. I hope this continues for you, if you want. Here is a link that explains a bit of what happens during different states of sleep and sleep paralysis: www.crystalinks.com/sleeparalysis.html

That helps alot, thankyou. But when i woke up i could move. I wasn't paralysed. I lifted my head up and was leaning back on my elbows for support while all this was going on. I wasn't frightened or anything. Just a lil like "what the @!$#" lol . Definetly wierd. I never have had any sleep paralysis , not that i can recall. Thanks again for the info

I am glad it helped a bit. I have posted this link in another thread here, it doesn't really explain what you have experienced, but it does outline a way you may be able to experience something similiar again, if you want. Some people are terrified by their experiences, others are left curious. I think the best experiences that a person can have of this kind are the ones that occur naturally. However, you can train your body to induce this type of experience and some claim to be able to command these experiences at will. I will leave it for you to decide, here is the link: www.lucidcrossroads.co.uk/WILD.htm

This past week or so, I keep seeing little white sparkly flashes of light in one corner of my bedroom just before I go to sleep at night.
Sleeper was asked about these a while back, I think he said that they were pixies and fairies or something, and to ignore them. ;D
I don't mind them, as long as they don't keep me awake all night partying. ;D
I was just wondering if anyone else had ever seen them?

Hmmmm..well V, either we are both going nuts, or they are your pixie and fairy friends, and you have sent them to torment me. ;D Or, maybe not.

Eevee In my case, several times during the past few months, especially near walls or corners inside the house. They are rather small and not that brilliant. Their "appearance" seems to occur when something "relevant" is being discussed or simply thought, well, i think. Pablo

A very interesting perspective Pablo, thanks!
I tried looking for them last night, but I didn't see anything, I only seem to see them when I'm not expecting to.

I see lights and hear sounds as I am falling asleep! sometimes I hear my name being called and it startles me everytime. Practicing OBE and astral travel on regular basis and I am very familiar with body paralisys. I will see be in another part of the boat as I am sleeping in the captain's quarters with my eyes closed. Once I was in the shower at the bottom on the shower stall as my body is in bed in the other room. Practice Practice Practice. No lights however as you have experienced.
