I'm interested in reading what other people's views of the UK's goverment & their plans for the country are.
I personally think it's shocking that the coalition was allowed, thousands of people were robbed of their vote and there should have been another election because people voted labour, liberal democrats, conservative (or one of the smaller parties), but what people got was a conservative / liberal democrat coalition, everybody says it's the goverment nobody voted for and the things that they are doing are absolutely disgusting.
They talk endlessly about reducing unemployment but then they made so many cuts that hundreds of thousands of public sector workers lost their jobs. They are reducing funding to valuable resources like libraries, adult care centres, mental health centres, etc.
People have protested but it's becoming a losing battle, the people of this country managed to get a u-turn on the selling off of the forests (story here) but I can't help but think that was to deflect away from other things they were doing / plan to do.
Now they are talking about privatising public services including healthcare, it's a complete step backwards and it will result in even more suffering, it's absolutely ridiculous news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Politics/David-Camerons-Plans-To-Let-Private-Companies-Run-Almost-All-Public-Services-Are-Unveiled/Article/201102315937591?lpos=Politics_First_Poilitics_Article_Teaser_Regi_0&lid=ARTICLE_15937591_David_Camerons_Plans_To_Let_Private_Companies_Run_Almost_All_Public_Services_Are_Unveiled
If they go ahead with this then the student protests will not be a patch on the uproar this will cause, the only good that's going to come out of all of this that I can see is that people are no longer willing to just accept what the goverment lays out and they'll stand up and fight and protest. I know people have always protested and in most cases it sadly changes nothing but I mean the average person who normally doesn't give a hoot about anything is actually standing up for him / herself and saying no this is wrong we won't stand for it! Also I take great comfort in the fact that the conservatives / liberal democrats will hopefully never be voted in again after all of this.
So your views / opinions? ;D
