Several weeks ago I started feeling very afraid at night. Despite having Narcolepsy and some VERY strong sleeping medication, I just didn't want to go to sleep as something didn't feel right. I started sleeping on my couch with the TV on to cool my nerves. At 1st it helped, but I still had this fear creeping in the back of my mind.
It was by accident that I stumbled upon ATS and somebody talking about sleeper and a link to In League with a UFO. Was a very good read btw. Anyways, after reading the book and reading other accounts on this forum, it was like everything started unfolding. Whats strange is how some of this stuff has been happening my whole life, but I just never put any of it together. I decided to get out a piece of paper and start listing my past "experiences". I started easily connecting dreams and events I hadn't ever thought were connected to anything. I'm still a little skeptical, thinking that maybe it's just a lack of sleep coupled with an overactive imagination. Some input would be more than welcomed. ;D
As a kid I remember always being terrified of the dark. My room in the basement was separated from my family who all slept on the 2nd floor. I don't remember being afraid of anything in particular, just afraid. So afraid in fact, that I spent years sleeping in my sisters room (they shared a room) and years sleeping on the couch upstairs. Here are some out of the ordinary experiences I remember. I remember starring at one of the basement windows (pretty sure it was the one in my room, but not positive). There was some light outside, so it was either the evening or early morning. They were fairly thick curtains, but through them I saw this very bright red light come down out of the sky. After that I don't remember anything else. I also remember sleeping on the upstairs couch and when I woke up there was this very vivid and brilliantly white "angel" standing in front of me. It quickly disappeared. Over the years I became less and less afraid of the dark.
When I was 13 my parents moved my family to another state. I don't remember anything unusual for many years. Then, when I was in high school I had my 1st sleep paralysis episode. 1st I felt a strange pressure at my feet. I brushed it off as an overactive imagination. The pressure stopped and my feet became very warm. Next, I had the sense there was a frightening entity next to me. I tried to get up, but felt a strong pressure on my chest push back. It finally stopped and my chest became very warm. I don't think I had another SP episode for about 3-4 months, but then started having them almost nightly. They would come in intervals and sometimes I would go months without an episode. Never since have I had that warm feeling following the release of the pressure. But I always felt the pressure and always sensed a presence. I now know that SP is one of the many symptoms of Narcolepsy, so I chalk at the very least, most of these episodes to that. I did however have this sense of attachment to this presence in my room. I just thought at the time that maybe it was just a ghost haunting that room.
After I graduated I joined the Army. During that time I didn't have a whole lot happen, but do remember a few odd things. I remember in Basic Training always having very odd dreams. They seemed like very light, very inactive dreams(both physically and mentally). I remember standing in line in a small dark hall dark hallway. I couldn't see any details and the people ahead of me were silhouetted shadows against a bright white light emanating from a doorway. Now I was in Basic at the time and under tons of stress, and you tend to wait in many lines in basic, so maybe it was just that. I don't know, just thought it was worth mentioning. Later on, I briefly met this guy who claimed he could see/read aura's. I do did happen to believe in aura's because my grandfather could see them (and he was the type of person who wouldn't lie about something like that). He as going around reading others and was astonishing everyone with his accuracy, so I decided why not. Don't remember the colors, but I remember he said I was very caring, calm and relaxed, a bit of envy, balanced, intuitive of self, and the presence of an "entity" attached to me. He was pretty dead on accurate and I just met the guy, so I found it pretty convincing, but a little scary concerning the "entity" attachment. Again, at the time I thought it was maybe just a ghost. Later on, a roommate of mine woke up in the middle of the night and saw a "shadowy figure" standing over me. It quickly disappeared.
I later received a medical discharge for Narcolepsy, so I didn't get to serve my full enlistment. At this time I was living in a house by myself. I remember once waking up in the early morning to a shadowy figure standing over me. It quickly disappeared. Many times while sleeping I could hear radio static, footsteps, ect. in the room. My SP started changing. I started feeling strong vibrations throughout my body, feelings of rushing (hard to describe), a couple of "remote viewing" episodes, and many very surreal and vivid out of body experiences (never left my house). Around this time, I rememer visiting my grandmother and I was downstairs (alone), and had this overwhelming sense that something was near the bottom of the stairs looking at me (couldn't see it). The hairs on the back of my neck all shot up and I couldn't even look directly at were I imagined it's face was (instead looking down). After a minute it went away and the fear lifted. I had the distinct feeling it was male, don't know why. Again, I just chalked to a ghost.
Moved to another place this summer. Several months ago I was going to bed and suddenly became aware of how different I felt. It felt like I wasn't controlling my body, like I was just a passenger along for the ride (kinda hard to describe). I was in a very strange place mentally. I felt extremely calm and relaxed like I have never felt before. As I was laying in bed all of these thoughts just started coming to mind about the nature of the universe and existence. Very strange . A few weeks ago I started waking from SP episodes with very intense fear afterwords (I haven't been afraid of my SP episodes in years). Eventually, the fear started around bedtime. I had just layed down in bed (lights still on hadn't taken sleeping meds yet) and suddenly had this strong rushing feeling, paralysis, and feeling of falling, intense fear, and vibration through my body. It felt like the strongest and quickest SP I have ever had. I know how to fight SP episodes and am quite good at it. ;D It took every ounce of strength to fight it off, but I did. It kept happening, but I still was just barely able to fight it off. Finally I just decided to sit up and felt weak (partial paralysis). Another symptom of Narcolepsy is cataplexy, which is REM paralysis brought on by emotion. I haven't felt that kind of cataplexy in a while (my meds are quite effective at stopping it). At the time I just thought it was cataplexy. I decided to go sleep on the couch. As I was standing in the living room I suddenly felt that intense fear and feeling of a presence. I could even place were I thought the presence was. It was very intense and it felt like everything was turning black. Both my cats high-tailed it downstairs and my dog started getting kinda anxious. I tried to fight off this feeling and went to comfort my dog. He was laying curled up on the couch. As I was petting him the "fear" intensified and I again could feel myself blacking out. I couldn't fight it anymore and just remember the strong rushing feeling and blackout. I woke up laying on one of the chairs a few hours later with no sense that time had passed. But it had. My dog was laying on the ground and the clock on the wall noted the time difference. It was then I knew it wasn't a ghost anymore. That's when I started investigating online, found ATS, and found this site. I haven't slept in my room since then and have woken up in that same chair (feeling as if no time has passed) 2x now.
Today I just decided to list weird "happenings" in my life and starting making the connection to what is happening now. Since I was a kid I have always been terrified of pictures of alien "greys". Especially as a kid, but still now I just about crap my pants when I see a picture. I also related some odd recurring dreams I have had throughout my life.
I am in my backyard, I look up at the stars and see some of them moving. One comes down to me. I can remember it hovering above me. I don't have any mental images of this, but remember a few of them coming out to great me. The end.
There is this strange dream were my right hand is in front of my making shapes with my fingers and pushing something around. It is VERY vague and the dream goes on like this for hours. I don't see anything other than my hand and something (can't tell what) that I'm pushing. My hand also has this strange feeling like it is much bigger than my hand physically is.
I have had many dreams of visiting very strange indescribable places in space. I would try to describe these places, but it's just too weird to make sense of most of it.
I have dreams of looking down on other planets. The planet, the terrain, ect seem so familiar to me, yet when I wake up it's so foreign.
I also "futuristic" dreams all the time. Very strange, large futuristic cities. Again, during the dream they feel so familiar, but when I wake up it's so foreign. There are only what seems like a 2-3 distinct cities that I visit over and over again.
Sorry about the long post and I hope I don't sound like to much of a nut job lol ;D
